The Campaign for College Opportunity, alongside the California State Student Association, recently recognized Sen. Ben Allen (SD-26, Santa Monica) as a Dean’s List recipient with Distinction in Statewide Higher Education Leadership for his efforts in pushing for California’s public colleges and universities to work collaboratively for increased student success.

“Sen. Allen’s commitment to strengthening collaboration across California higher education institutions speaks to his unwavering dedication to ensuring students are well served and represented in our state,” said Maria Anguiano, member of the Board of Directors for the Campaign for College Opportunity and the University of California Board of Regents.

Allen was honored in early January at the Campaign for College Opportunity’s Legislative 2019 Dean’s List reception at the California State Capitol alongside six California legislative leaders, including Evan Low (AD-28), Jesse Gabriel (AD-45), Connie Leyva (SD-20), Monique Limón (AD-37), Richard Roth (SD-31), and Kimberly Rodriguez, Legislative Director, Office of Senate President Pro Tempore Toni Atkins.

The event welcomed higher education leadership, elected officials, civic leaders, and students from across the state to celebrate outstanding legislative leaders for their trailblazing work in improving college opportunity and student success.

The Campaign for College Opportunity is a California non-profit bipartisan policy and research organization focused on a single mission:  to ensure all Californians have an equal opportunity to attend and succeed in college in order to build a vibrant workforce, economy and democracy.
