The Santa Monica College (SMC) Music Department unveils this year’s Spring Jazz Series, featuring Kim Richmond, Jon Mayer, and Kenny Sara.

The popular concert series opens with Kim Richmond on Friday, March 8. All concerts are held at 7 p.m. in the Music Hall at the Santa Monica College Performing Arts Center, 1310 11th St. (at Santa Monica Boulevard), Santa Monica. Tickets are $10.

The spring 2019 jazz performances schedule:

  • Friday, March 8: Kim Richmond. Woodwind veteran Kim Richmond brings to the SMC Jazz Series the “K-Project”: a new and inventive ensemble that gives homage to the music of Herbie Hancock and Joni Mitchell. Special guest artist, Kiki Ebsen.
  • Friday, April 26: Jon Mayer. Master musician Jon Mayer bridges the gap between the post-Bop era that began in the 1960s and the innovative jazz musicians on today’s scene.
  • Friday, May 10: Veteran drummer Kenny Sara brings with him the “Sounds of New Orleans” and gets listeners ready to Second Line at SMC.
